About the Process

When you place an order, you will receive a follow-up email from us within one business day. This email will request your text (though you are welcome to send it to us before ordering), and explain how to submit it. When you are preparing your text, please note the approximate word count suggested in the product description for your wedding invitation design. Some designs are not able to accommodate very lengthy text without significant design changes.

Once your details have been confirmed, we will customize the design for you within two business days and send you a digital proof. Upon approval of the proof, we will work with you on establishing a specific timeline and begin production on your wedding suite.

Although production times can vary based upon the design and options, in general, you can expect 4-6 weeks between ordering and receiving your completed invitation suite.


We offer samples of the invitation card for each suite for $10 (free shipping). The cost of the sample will be applied toward your invitation order through a custom discount code.

All samples come previous production runs of that suite, so your sample may not have the same configuration that you would choose for your own suite. For example, the sample might include edge painting, or it might have foil printing when you plan to order letterpress. If there is something in particular that you need to see (a certain color of foil, for instance), please email us to let us know before ordering your sample, and we will do our best to accommodate. Please note that the sample may take up to 7 business days to arrive.

Rush Orders

We can often accommodate special requests for clients who need to hit a specific target date. The production on our wedding invitation suites is both labor-intensive and often complex, so there are limits to our ability to speed up the process, but we are very experienced in the field so when we need to pull something off quickly, we have the know-how to do it. Rush order fees may apply depending on the timeline. If you think you need your invitation sooner than the standard production window of 4-6 weeks, it's best to e-mail or call us ahead of time.


Domestic ground shipping is always free from Dependable Weddings. All suites ship from San Francisco, California, via UPS or USPS, and are 100% insured. You can check out the UPS ground shipping zone map here for an estimate of how long your package will be in transit. 

Expedited shipping is available by special request, and will be paid via a separate invoice once the invitation suite is prepared for shipping. We can offer estimates on expedited shipping costs, but cannot provide 100% accurate pricing at this time (though we are working on it!)

International shipping is currently not available. International customers are welcome, but shipping and taxes will need to be calculated individually, so please e-mail us at design@dependableweddings.com. We plan to add calculated international shipping to the store in the coming months.

Need something more, or something different?

If you are interested in any design customization which is not encompassed in the product options (such as a change in ink color, paper color, or amount of text), please get in touch with us by phone or e-mail to discuss the options. Some design changes are easy to accomplish while others are more labor-intensive, and we’re always happy to have a detailed conversation about your specific needs, whether or not you have already purchased one of our designs.

For all of our suites, wraparound services such as hand lettering or digital addressing, assembly, and mailing are available for an additional fee. We can also offer additional embellishments for most suites, such as edge painting, envelope lining, wax seals, twine or ribbon, etc. If you have something specific in mind, please don’t hesitate to get in touch for pricing!

If your needs are substantially different from what is included with a particular suite, we will refer you to our fully custom department, so that you can work one-on-one with a designer to bring your wedding invitation suite to life.

Coordinating day-of materials are also available for every suite.

We also use the highest quality “ingredients” — paper, ink, and more. We encourage you to “taste” the product by ordering a sample. We always strive to be in complete alignment with you, our client, when it comes to the look and feel of your invitations.

We are happy to answer any questions, and are also available to give advice on wedding invitation wording, tradition and etiquette.  Our goal is to give you a personal, bespoke experience, and help you to create and uphold the traditions and ritual that are important to you in celebrating your wedding. We pride ourselves on our clarity of communication and personal touch. 

In addition to the Dependable Weddings collection, we also offer fully custom design and printing services, and we can work with you to bring your ideal wedding suite to life, or print an existing design.
